What You Own
...will finally own you.
As a society we have a need to define one another by what we look like and what we own. As individuals we form our initial opinion within 7 seconds of meeting someone and further opinions
are formed following several minutes of conversation.
In his book Society of the Spectacle, Guy Debord discusses how workers become consumers, and predicts a society dominated by consumer goods and its need to make a spectacle of itself. This project is an attempt to understand the relationship of individuals with their possessions and the degree to which they are represented or defined by them.
